Annual Guild Charity Sew In

  • Our Annual Charity Sew-in will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at PARC, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.  Bring your lunch and a dessert or snack to share.  Water will be provided. This is a great opportunity to meet other guild members.  Please join us to sew quilts for the Comfort Quilts and Veterans groups.  Ryan’s Cases for Smiles will also be there for you to sew pillowcases for their cause.

It is important that you register for this event due to space limitations. Please sign-up at the Comfort Quilt table at our monthly meetings. If you are unable to attend meetings before the Sew-in, please contact Lee Ann Comegys.   You will need to bring the following:  sewing machine, sewing machine pedal and cords, scissors, pins, needles, and rotary cutter.  We will have irons, ironing boards and cutting mats.  If you have fabric and a pattern you would like to work on, please bring that as your project.  Kits for Comfort Quilts and Veterans Quilts can be reserved on the sign-up sheet. Fabric for pillowcases will be available.

Please consider being a part of this annual event. It is a wonderful opportunity to create quilts and pillowcases for those in need.

Nothing comforts like a quilt or a cute pillowcase!

    See you then!

  • Hi there! My name is Giuseppe Ribaudo, but I am better known as Giucy Giuce.

I grew up in Long Island, NY. First generation Sicilian-American on my dad’s side and second on my mom’s, my family lived on the bottom floor of my maternal grandparents’ house. My parents were restaurant owners and as such spent much of their time working, so my sister and I were often upstairs with my grandparents.

My grandmother is a remarkably talented and prolific seamstress. She taught me to sew in the Sicilian fashion, which is to say she would show me how to do something and I would have approximately 10 seconds to demonstrate that I had learned it perfectly before she’d abruptly pick me up and sew the seam herself. I never much cared for the finicky elements of garment making, so sewing took a backseat for a while. It wasn’t until I was in college that I discovered quilting. I began with sewing improvisational  quilts before moving into modern traditional territory. I joined Instagram shortly thereafter and quickly found myself making long distance friends in the ever-growing quilting community via social media.

After bouncing around the country for about a decade, I decided to move back to New York to pursue  a career in textiles. Within a few months of being in NYC I was offered a marketing position at Andover Fabrics and was promoted to multimedia manager a year later. In 2018, I refocused my energy to fabric  design and released my first collection Quantum. In 2021 I released my tenth collection called Nonna, an homage to my beloved grandmother and her home where I learned to sew. My most recent release, Sleuth, is the third and final collection in a true crime series I have dubbed The Gnarls Hollow Trilogy

In 2020 I relocated to Portland, Maine where I continue to design fabric and patterns, lecture, and  teach quilting workshops.

Jennifer Worthen

  • I’m the quilter, designer, and all-around fabric enthusiast behind Slightly Biased Quilts — where modern design meets joyful color and a slightly nerdy love of quilt math.

I’ve been quilting since 2009, and what started as a small Etsy shop for bias tape has grown into a full-on creative adventure filled with fresh, approachable quilt patterns designed to make you smile (and actually finish your quilts!). I’m all about bright fabrics, clean layouts, and that magical balance between simple and stunning.

Here you’ll find patterns that are fun to sew, easy to follow, and full of personality — perfect for beginners and seasoned quilters alike.

  • I’m an artist focused on textiles, primarily quilting, but I also play with embroidery and other things as the mood strikes. I split time between New Jersey and Florida. I’ve got two dachshunds and love a good wiener joke.

The quilting bug bit me way back in 1999. I was a young mom with a baby. Alex Anderson unlocked the mysteries of quilting for me, at a time when I needed something to keep me sane.

Alex taught me that I should try at least two new techniques every day, and I’ve tried very hard to honor the lessons I learned.

Hand sewing is my favorite right now, and I love anything scrappy.

Currently I’m focused on Kawandi inspired quilting and over the top hand embroidery.

Penni Domikis

  • All Scrapped Out! is a demonstration of how to make a masterpiece out of your unruly collection of scraps without pre-cutting or pre-pressing your fabrics. There is no need for pre-cut sizes. Let Penni show you how to step away from the cutting table and ironing board and just begin sewing. There is no need to purchase special rulers… you will use YOUR rulers. There is no need to cut into your stash of yardage… you will use YOUR scraps and turn them into something spectacular. Using just a few rules of experience Penni will show you how to make “free” quilts with all those leftovers others throw away.

  • Cabin in the Woods Quilters is a Woman Owned Small Business and is home of the All Scrapped Out! series and Scrap Petal Garden. We are a pattern and template company that is home to designer, teacher, lecturer Penni Domikis.

Emma Jane Powell

  • Arpilleras were a form of craft art resistance born during the Chilean dictatorship of the 1970-80s. Using applique tapestries closely resembling quilts, learn how impoverished women communicated human rights atrocities happening in Chile with the outside world. We will explore various arpilleras from that time period and what they represent. We will also look at arpilleras today and how this craft art is being recognized. You will even get to see and feel various arpilleras. Learn a little about history, politics, and art of South America during this very captivating lecture.

  • Continuing a family legacy of quilting for over 25 years, Emma Jane has tried it all, and she loves every (almost) step of the quilting process. A career public school teacher for many years, she jumped ship after having a baby in her 40s during the pandemic, and now teaches quilting for guilds, shows, and local quilt stores. She studied Spanish in high school and college and has traveled to numerous Spanish speaking countries. Her love of travel has influenced her appreciation for craft art.
