Our Projects
Calico Cutters Quilt Guild is honored to participate in many charitable activities. Reaching out to those in need is at the core of our quilting fellowship.
Members are asked to contribute to two projects on a regular basis:
American Soldier quilts - (see details on page below)
Domestic Violence Center of Chester County - "Kids Quilts" (see details on page below)
Each month the guild participates in a charitable activity. These efforts have resulted in the following donations being made (as of Nov. 2011):
1,082 paperbacks were donated by our members and sent to our servicemen and women overseas.
107 pillowcases were made for the ConKerr Cancer pillowcase project
115 pink pillowcases in support of women receiving treatments for breast cancer were sent to Bryn Mawr Hospital.
88 Baby Bundles were sent to the migrant workers at Southern Chester County Hospital. The bundles contained blankets,onesies,shampoo and wipes.
213 placemats were sent in support of Meals on Wheels
20 bags of beauty supplies and confidence builders were collected for Wandering Wishes, a group that supports girls in foster care and homeless shelters.
80 tote bags full of school supplies were gathered for the local Headstart program.
45 dresses, 25 shorts and 40 tee shirts were sewn for the children at the Swaziland clinic in Africa.
121 scarves, 140 hats and 48 pair of gloves to be distributed to homeless shelters in the area
